More bad news from Iraq: the 100th British soldier to be killed in the conflict died this morning. Relatives of the dead serviceman have said that Blair should name a memorial in his honour, but Downing Street has yet to confirm that Sergeant Illegal War will be singled out for this treatment.

Michael Barrymore has had an emotional meeting with the father of Stuart Lubbock, the man found dead in Barrymore’s pool in 2002. Claims that injuries to Lubbock’s rectum were caused by a “medical probe” rather than injuries sustained at a gay orgy were strengthened when coroners discovered the probe in question. It was 11 inches long, had a 4 inch girth, and was ribbed for extra pleasure.

Britain’s capital, no stranger to unusual events, was treated to a most unusual sight Friday: a whale swimming along the River Thames, 35 miles from the ocean.

Hmmm. The image upload gizmo in (the otherwise excellent) WordPress is a bit clunky. Why is it inserting a thumbnail-size image when I’ve uploaded (and want in my post) a full-sized picture? Did a bit of manual tinkering to make the top image (of the visiting whale) be displayed at the right scale. Glad to see that I’m not the only one who finds it irritating…
As soon as Miss B. can decide upon a title for it, we’re going to get the Cat Blog going again in all its catty glory.

I’ve just found out that a close friend of mine has a friend who has a friend who used to live in the same town in America as Sandy Denny and this friend says that one time Sandy Denny punched the woman who ran her local Off Licence in the face because she wouldn’t serve her any alcohol.
So there you go. Voice of an angel, but not afraid to use her fists when drunk.
